There is so much to see in this palace. Just to linger and wait for the perfect moment when there are no people in the room, and imagine what it used to be like to live here. Back in the day...
After I had quickly wandered through most of the palace areas, I did just that. Lingered and admired the views out of the windows into the various gardens. Took in the coolness of the rooms and started to notice the little details.
What a beautiful place to sit and relax. But I will come back to these gardens. The inside first. |
Just enjoying the various tiles, wrought iron and details. Closeup of the center tile below. |
Look at the lovely tile right in the center. |
Ahhh, a quick shot when no other tourists are in sight! |
Look at the ornate marble carving covering the wall. And then there is the wrought iron! |
This door is photo and frame-worthy! |
Peeking up the stairs. |
Going up the stairs to their private chambers. |
A lovely sitting area on the first level of the stairwell. |
What a view from this sitting area. |
Ahhh, the frescos on the wall! |
Peering down into the main courtyard from upstairs, in the palace's private chambers (bedrooms). |
Details: chair tucked into brick area built into the fresco-covered wall. |
This is where I bumped into a tour group coming out of looking at the bedroom chambers. (no cameras) I ran smack dab into someone I knew (by sight) from my small hometown in WA State. Funny! |
The details on this carved shutter! |
