Exploring the Medina
After most people in our tour group had departed, we decided to wander back and check out the antique shop with the rugs and wrought iron. The owner speaks excellent English and is an easy fellow to chat with. He gave us a surprise tour of his rooftop patio, which is right smack dab at the mosque tower. The patio has lots of potted plants, most of them cactus type. It would be a lovely place to hang out. But we are here to shop, and shop we did. This store has some really great carpets, glassware, antiques and a variety of items. He has nice products at fair prices. He does not dicker on prices like most locals. When he says an item is XXX, he means it.

He had some wonderful old heavy wrought
iron pieces. Great for making into tables, or
hanging on the wall as art. |

The owners lovely rooftop terrace. |

What a view! |

We ended up with an antique frame of
wrought iron for the wall... |
|
...a large rug for the living room... |
|
...a wrought iron, antique coffee table... |
|
...and three big stuffed pillows to sit on. I would
say our shopping adventure was a big success! |
