Exploring Mahdia
We left the El Jem Amphitheater and drove less than an hour away to the small town of Mahdia. There is a Friday market held here. It is large, crowded and filled with everything from spices to used clothing, new kitchen items to pottery, food to new shoes. We wandered around the town and the medina, checked out the local fish market and also a wonderful pottery store where we made a purchase of pottery dishes for our home back in Tunis.

It is crowded and difficult to drive here. Meant for walking instead. |

Looking from town out to the Fort. We will explore that tomorrow. |
After exploring the town and it's sights, we drove not far, back to our hotel. It is a lovely small B&B, right on the beach. We spend the rest of the day sitting at the pool, reading and just relaxing.
