Sept, 2014. Our first visit to the Antoine Baths in Carthage, Tunisia.
Here are the last of the photos. It seems I got a little trigger happy with my camera. I could not help myself, I just found this place to be so amazing. And such a beautiful setting, right on the Mediterranean! Here is a tomb, a graveyard, an underground chapel, a large Christian church, incredible mosaics, various underground storage areas, a kiln, exotic plants and two very excited newcomers to Tunisia! Wow, what an incredible afternoon, time for lunch and a cold beer at our neighborhood sea-side restaurant, Neptune's.

A graveyard, you can see the pits from the coffins. |
Tiny underground Chapel with great details. |
It was nice and cool in here! |
Notice the outline where the coffin sat. |
Details on the walls as we enter the chapel. |
Heading to the large Christian Church remains. |
You can see Mark up there, in the middle, looking down on the ruins. |
Looking down on the ruins. There are mosaic floors everywhere! |
I zoomed in the floors, which are difficult to see. They are covered in grass and dust, but they are all mosaics! |
The next time we visit, we view from the correct side and figure out what the scene is. |
This one is beautiful. And even more breathtaking if you look at it on the other side. Duh. |
Since these have been sitting outside in the elements for a couple of thousand years, it is amazing that they have last so well! |
Nasty looking cactus plants. Not a good place to trip! |
Either storage or a kiln, I can't recall. |
Just various ruins scattered throughout the area. |
These must be little boxes to store food? They can't be little caskets? |
We had a big fun and adventurous day! |
