Aug, 2015. Our first week in Tunis, Tunisia. We went with the admin team and the other new staff members to Sidi Bou Said, a beautiful village on the hillside overlooking the very blue Mediterranean. We had been here before, back in Feb, but the setting is so incredible that I could (and shall) visit many times.
It is very much a tourist destination and there are quite a few people wandering around, Europeans as well as local Tunisians. It seems to be THE place to stroll with your loved one or family.
The streets are clean and there are little potted flowers everywhere. Lots of cats too. Restaurants are modern and some are a little costly, others not so much. It will depend on the view and how European the place is. Blue doors, wrought iron details, blue gates/windows everywhere! The setting so beautiful and I can understand why this is a crowded place!

a few years. |
To the right is the reality. There is a lot of garbage here. It is usually easy to crop out of the touristy photos but Tunisia has an obvious garbage problem. And this
is a clean place, wait until
later!

Lots of boating on this hot day. |

We are SO excited to be here! |

The house below is one we look at for rent in a few months.

Above: This is a famous door that you can find in many photos and so many people stop here to take this shot. I feel sorry if this is an individual's house! So lovely!
The photos above left and then below are of a little boutique hotel that we wandered into. It would be paradise to stay at Dar Said Hotel!

I want to learn how to do mosaics and tiling now! |
