Getting Settled in Tunis - Aug & Sept 2014

Getting Settled in Tunis, Aug & Sept 2014

We are settling in nicely to our new home and country.  The weather is hot and beautiful, we are finding where and when to buy groceries, and we are exploring.
On the weekends, we go shopping in various places for
fresh produce and meats.  As we walk around this area,
La Marsa, we have wonderful views of the Sea.  This
is a shot of a restaurant, The Factory.
We discovered a nice local sandwich shop.
And when you don't know what you are ordering, you
may get berry cheesecake with your coffee for breakfast.

We found a great place for schwarmas!  Yum!!!

Mark joined a golf club.

On our drive home from work, we have a beautiful view of the old Roman Orthodox Church on the hill in Carthage.

One day at work, I went with coworkers to
run errands.  We stopped at a palace for a
quick tour.
Lovely old palace.  Now used for large events
such as weddings.

My birthday.  We tried to go elsewhere, but ended up at
Sinbad's.  A modern place on the beach,
for  the young who want to dance and party.

Luckily the food was decent and the views were fabulous.
And no one goes out early, so we had the place pretty much to ourselves.
We are soon to name her Momma Kitty.
We seem to have a new friend hanging around.

Our neighborhood walks.  Lots of beautiful doors.

Our beautiful morning walks.  Nothing like seeing ancient
Roman ruins when you are strolling around!
